    Panettone is made with eggs, butter, sugar, raisins, candied fruit, and other ingredients. The fruit is often from sun-baked regions of Italy, like Sicily or Calabria. 

  • Preparation

    The dough is leavened and allowed to rise for two days, then baked and left to dry out for a day. The dough hangs upside down to cool, which gives panettone its characteristic dome shape.
